My favorite parts of Berlin

This was the most moving place in Berlin for me, as it probably would be for any German.  It's a mixture of pride and shame and both are entangled in the aura of the place.  So much sadness and so much hope in that city.  This place just keeps picking itself up.  The Tiergarten Park is a good example.  It was a beautiful park with ancient trees and lakes before the war.  Now the trees are only 50 years old.  In 1946 the park was completely razed for firewood and Berliners grew potatoes all over the park.  In 1949, they started planting trees again.

My favorite photo's of Berlin:
